Collin

Our Son Collin was born February 3rd, 2006. It was right after birth my husband and I noticed his skin was horrible- dry, red and patchy. As he grew up, his skin would have good days and bad. His cradle cap was among the worse I have ever seen. It wasn't until we introduced solid foods that we notice his skin had continuously gotten worse. Collin also developed asthma around 4-6 months old. We went to a dermatologist who told us he had eczema and gave us some medication to use for flare ups. Between the ages of 6 months and 18 months, Collin was hospitalized 7 times for asthma related problems. Finally after many, many, many months of eczema, cradle cap, hospital visits and asthma, our pediatrician recommend allergy testing. We waited 14 long days for results. He was severely allergic to peanuts and eggs. Since removing peanuts and eggs from his diet, he is 100% better. He only has eczema flare-ups when he comes in contact with a large amount of eggs. Unfortunately, Collin's peanut allergy has gotten worse with age. He has been hospitalized three times with anaphylactic reactions. I make 90% of foods from scratch. This includes cakes, pies, cookies, Chinese food and much more. I hope with this blog, I can give you recipe ideas and help with your loved ones allergies.
